The course is composed of two parts:
PART I : Ship(Prof. Kyu-Yeul Lee)
PART I goes on for 10 weeks. Students learn about "Basic of Ship Design", "Electric Circuit for Controller of Model Ship", "Programming a Control Software for Controller". Each group builds a model ship as a term project of Part I. At the end of the course, Model Ship Contest is held in towing tank. Model Ships need to be automatically and manually controlled to run the specific path. Each group is evaluated in parts of Stability, Propulsion Ability, Maneuvering Ability, Control Ability and Creativity.
PART II : Offshore Structures(Prof. Hang S. Choi)
PART II goes on for 5 weeks after PART I is over. Students learn "Types and Specifications of Offshore Structures" and "Design Concepts of Offshore Structures by analyzing examples". Collecting information (Liens, Design Factors, Main Instruments, General Arrangement and etc) for a specific Offshore Structure is carried out as a term project.
